Can I wash my hair the day before my colour appointment?
Hair Prep Guidelines for Color Appointments (Especially for Bleach Services) To ensure the best results and protect your scalp: Wash your hair between 1 week and 2 days before your coloring session. This allows your scalp's natural oils to build up, which helps protect against irritation or chemical burns during bleaching. Do NOT wash your hair the night before your appointment. A freshly cleansed scalp is more sensitive and prone to discomfort during chemical processing. Use a leave-in conditioner leading up to your appointment. Choose one that does not revert your hair back to its natural state, especially if you’ve had prior treatments or styling.
Do I leave my scalp dry?
Please ensure you have a light oil applied to your scalp to prevent irritation during the coloring session. Examples of light oils include argan oil, jojoba oil, or grapeseed oil. Avoid using gels on the edges, heavy leave-in conditioners, or thick styling gels, as these can interfere with the color processing. Also, avoid heavy oils like coconut oil or castor oil, as they can be too thick and block the color from processing properly.
How should my hair be prepped before my session?
Make sure your hair is detangled, washed, blow-dried and into 4 big sections. Prep must be done or extra cost will be added if it requires more time to get you ready.
I don’t really like using heat on my hair. What can I do?
Make sure you stretch your hair or detangle it as much as possible before the appointment. This is a must for all clients.
